In the late 1990s, the paths of Armand Debelder of 3 Fonteinen and Karel Goddeau of the geuze blendery De Cam crossed each other thanks to their love for what they called: the “most beautiful of all beer styles”. From December 16, 2018 (20 years after the very first 3 Fonteinen lambic brew) onwards, Armand and Karel brewed together again for some time. The lambic from those joint brewing moments was distributed among the barrels in Lot and Gooik. Four years later, Karel Goddeau and Michaël Blancquaert selected 10 fine lambics from the joint brews and bottled a typical Oude Geuze on October 26, 2022, Armand’s date of birth. This bottle is an ode to the long friendship, the beautiful moments and memories, the beautiful craft, the mutual respect and the steadfast values that 3 Fonteinen and De Cam share. Central to the label is the word “Geuze” – once written by Armand – as a connecting factor.
